If you're new to the security industry, our initial SORA training program will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to become a licensed security officer in New Jersey. The course covers essential topics such as legal aspects of security work, emergency procedures, communication techniques, and more.

Initial SORA License Training

Our SORA Training Initial Classes are offered Tuesday - Thursday from 9am-5pm on a bi-weekly basis.

SORA License Renewals & upgrades

If your SORA license is expiring, we offer renewal courses to ensure you stay compliant with state regulations. Our renewal classes provide a thorough review of the core concepts and an update on any changes to the law and industry best practices.

If you already have an Unarmed SORA License (Yellow Striped) and are looking to upgrade to an Armed SORA license (Red Striped), choose Upgrade on the Application below.

Renewal and Upgrades are offered every Wednesday from 9am-5pm.

What is a SORA License?

A SORA (Security Officer Registration Act) license is a state-issued certification required for individuals working as security officers in the State of New Jersey. This license ensures that security officers meet the necessary qualifications and are equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform their duties safely and effectively. To obtain or renew your SORA license, you must complete state-approved training courses, which we proudly offer here.

SORA training is a 3 step process to be completed within a 30 day period. These steps currently include registration with the New Jersey State Police (NJSP), completion of a 24 hour training program with a NJSP certified instructor, and fingerprint collection. SORA Licenses are valid for two years.
